Free DLNA server and media organizer for you

Yes, KooRaRoo now has a free version, so that you can enjoy using the best DLNA media server and organizer completely free!

It has less features than the paid version, but it's enough for everyday streaming if you are just starting out and want to try things out. Of course the paid version has a fully-functional no-obligations 30 days trial period too, so this gives you complete freedom over how you wish to try things out.

To see the difference between the versions, please see this features comparison page.

I hope you enjoy using either version of KooRaRoo and spread the good word about it, so that others benefit from the rich set of easy-to-use features that KooRaRoo has.

Enjoy! :)

Look up movie information on IMDB

I am happy to say that a new version of KooRaRoo Media DLNA server has been released. It has many new features and also improvements and fixes as usual.

For a full release log, please see this forum thread: http://forum.kooraroo.com/showthread.php/548-KooRaRoo-Media-v1-6-1-is-now-available

One of the new features is the ability to look up movie information in the IMDB database. This feature is still experimental, so you may experience timeouts at certain times, but actually the more you search, the faster and better it will become :) So, don't be shy - try it out! It's not the default setting yet, but hopefully it will get there in one of the next updates.

As usual, all comments, suggestions and questions are happily replied to via http://support.kooraroo.com and/or the online community.

Enjoy!

Use "play to" to push files to your devices!

KooRaRoo just keeps on giving you features to make your media streaming experience richer and easier.

One such feature is the ability to push files and whole playlists to supported DLNA devices (digital media renderers, or DMRs). This feature is also called "play to". If you have such a device (and very likely you do), then you'll appreciate the Remote Player feature of KooRaRoo Media.

Take a look at this video which shows the basics of using this feature to push files to a device:

Segregate your files between devices!

Use KooRaRoo's powerful parental controls to specify which device receives what files or folders. It's very easy to use (as you'll see in the following video) and will give you complete peace of mind:

Do you know about dynamic playlists in KooRaRoo?

If you are not sure what they do, well, the following video is just for you!

Dynamic playlists are a very powerful and flexible way to organize your media collection. KooRaRoo allows you to create playlists that are populated automatically based on the criteria you choose. These criteria are matched to your file's metadata.

It's easier than it sounds! Take a look:

More videos on the tutorial page!

I am happy to present two more videos now available from the video tutorials page:

1) How to rearrange docking panes in the GUI to create a custom layout:

2) How to use drag-and-drop to move files and playlists around in the media tree:

New "tutorials" page on our website!

I am happy to say that there's now even more help for KooRaRoo's users, showing some of the basics and also going into advanced topics.

The page is called Video Tutorials and it's located here (accessible via a drop-down menu from the Support): http://www.kooraroo.com/tutorials.php

The first video is on a very basic operation - adding a folder with subfolders and files into KooRaRoo Media's library. Please take a look:
